What the heck should I be selling or salvaging or putting on the marketplace?
That, coupled with my complete ignorance on what items I should horde and what I should maybe put on the marketplace.
Also, keys and boxes and casino slots and bingo and sealed items.
For instance, I have all these soul shards.
I've been salvaging duplicates and putting what I can in the bank.
Do I need to be doing this?
Should I be picking one or two soul shard sets and just focus on those?
Do I upgrade them at all or do I save that for later levels.

For now you should use them link to find your breakthrough weapons most of those are found from boss chests or wheels of fortune.
Charms are more rare than keys since you don't get them anywhere else other than NCsoft feedback gifts the ones you get every 2-4 levels and a single faction that makes them, which is not very worth picking up and leveling.

I'm level 35 atm, and can see myself playing for a while. I definitely recommend buying a sub though. Inventory space is a huge premium in this game, and the sub allows you to keep costumes in the wardrobe. Without this feature, you're either never going to be able to keep costumes you like, or you're going to never have any inventory slots.

Started on 16 Jan 2018 Chapter 1 lvl 1 Just follow the yellow quest, simple enough.
Skip all blue quest.
Chapter 5 lvl 9 3 Dragon Pouch acquired from chapter 4, use it to open inventory slots.
Purple quest: You should receive a letter by now press J and read the letter and join a blade and soul inventory slots />Chapter 6 lvl 10 Every 10 letter, there will be a Master Hong level that give freebies!
Use it :D Purple Quest: Read the letter and do the quest.
Do together with chapter 6, as they are going to the same area.
Chapter 7 Stalker Weapon acquired.
Chapter 8 level 12 Stalker soul shield acquired.
Purple quest 2: Read the letter, do your yellow quest first, it will lead to the same area in the end.
Purple quest 3: Right after you done purple quest 2, you can read the letter and then do yellow quest.

By consuming other gear.
You feed it, it grows.
There's another, even more demented, progression path for your but at this point I began to lose the will, and the ability, to take it all in.
I just came out of City of Steam a month or so ago.

Most, if not all, of those display on your character so I guess that is the main way for you to personalize your look other than by changing outfits for a complete makeover.
You get plenty of different outfits from quests but they frequently change your faction and make you KoS to certain NPCs and also to players who visit web page wearing the outfits of opposed NPC factions so that's a consideration.
Then there are a whole load of non-faction outfits in the store that you can buy, some of which I thought were pretty spiffy.
It's quite a different approach from any MMO I've played but only in degree, I guess.
Not sure how I'd get on with it long term but for a run to level cap it seems fine.

In RoS, if you kill an orc he drops EVERYTHING he was wearing and carrying.
Every orc, every time.

Gear is an important part of that, but not when it's a treadmill.
Frodo didn't replace Sting when Shelob dropped something better.

It's essentially the same as heirlooms in WoW, only you have to put some effort into upgrading the heirloom, not just have it scale automatically.
